Back Home

... s hard to explain - there was obviously so much more to explore and take in...... like unfinished business. Then...

The taxi driver asked us if we would be coming back again. When we replied "no", he knowingly said "You will be back! See you next year!"

What could we say??!

Maybe he knows something we don't....

6 hours of traveling later...

We arrive at Stansted at about 8pm and proceed to have a, probably, day old burger somewhere in the airport. Yum. Turns out that all the shops, in the departure lounge and outside, close at about 9pm so we have to sit around for 4 hours before our flight boards with nada to do.

Finally we get on the flight with a load of other backpacker types and head to Malaysia!

The one with the love for open-top buses.

... y QUT. We also shared a very traditional English lunch of mocha lattes and salad from Starbucks! Nothing like taking in the culture of a country!

The next morning, it was bright and sunny (it had started raining and gotten very grey very quickly the previous day, during our "tour") and Claire dropped us off at a museum so we could do some of our own sightseeing round the city. It was here we first met the open-top bus. These buses are ...

Cambridge to Norfolk

... the locals being the most friendliest people I've met since Australia; the fantastic University buildings; the Weeping Willows drinking from the river; the diversity of it's market (Caribbean cakes for dinner!) and just a nice ambiance about the place. Can't rate it enough...and a 100% better than it's rival, Oxford, which we visited soon after for work reasons ...

Introducing ourselves

Before starting our blog, we thought that we should first briefly introduce ourselves so that you have an idea of who we are. So, we are three friends from Cambridge, UK (originally from Greece) who decided to do a two month trip to Australia, New Zealand and the Cook islands (the beyond part). Each two of us wrote a small description of the third person in our group. So here we are!!! Echo, also known as Eva Nanopoulos, is 23 ...

The Boat Race, Cambridge, and Financial trouble

... advantage in the final 3 minutes. To be completely honest, the race itself was mostly a blur to me. I remember Cambridge being down for a long time, but feeling confident that they would move back - they looked like they weren't pulling all that hard, while Oxford was exploding just to try to break a lead early. By the time they passed us around the large 2nd bend of the race, about 1k after the Hammersmith bridge, Cambridge had pulled within about 3 or 4 seats (non rowers ...

Talk about Old School

... more interesting walks go by my carefully chosen window seat, I was satisfied. Its nice to be a tourist, but its just as nice to enjoy the culture of a place and see it for what it is, a home to many and a place of history that shouldn't be forgotten. All places visited should not be looked upon as just a quick snapshot for someone to take home and prove they were there, but somewhere they saw, and enjoyed every minute of it.
