My dear friends: It's getting colder in Canada and my thoughts are wandering to warmer climes. On January 12/2010, I fly to Managua, Nicaragua and then work my way north ending up in Cancun, Mexico. November 14th Darlene and Jeremy have a family celebration planned for our 40th anniversary. We can hardly wait to share the wedding day memories with everyone! We wish Alan were here to share this as well.

Well the day has finally arrived....we're off! In approximately 4 hours Carolynn and I will embark on our longest vacation together yet....well until India/Egypt/China/Morocco/an unknown destination next year. The car is packed (and yes, we can still see out the back window), snacks have been purchased (no fruit though....we've had problems at the border before with that), and most good byes have been said.

... house. We watched Planet Earth, which totally is a wild documentary. It makes me glad to be travelingday , seeing this world before global warming really sets in. I awoke (today) and took a shower. It is so nice to have a hot, high pressure shower. We had some coffee, and we started watching movies. I think that we might go out tonight, hopefully I can get a hold of Davie, Heather, and Steve. This will be the last time I see them, in a few months at least.

I laugh at the thought that I may have a serious obsession. Nervously laugh that is! It's the same obssession I think you all have and I betcha you can guess what that is. ... I guess it's a nice feeling. To know that you're memorable in some way or another. And maybe even a little important. Important enough for them to stay in contact, and tell you what it is you mean to them. Travelling is as much about building relationships as it is about learning and seeing the sites. Maybe that's my view on life in general. Though it sure is easy to let those things go. Even if they're _that_ important to you. Regular life gets in the way. Hrmph.
