We started by having lunch with Vikas and Anjali's friend's in St Simon Island at the Tup Tim Thai restaurant. I haven't had such good thai food in a while. While waiting for everyone to arrive, Vikas and I strolled into a local beer shop where they brew their own beer and also we can buy draft beer in Growlers(portable beer bottles).

Cumberland Island is located off the shore of Georgia near the GA-FL border.
The ferry (see photos) left for the island left at 9:00 am and took us across the St. Mary River and out to the island. We got to the island around 10:00 where rangers talked to us forever. On the way to the campsite we saw two deer in the ferns (see photo). The animals were not shy.

... We went back into the Georgia countryside, actually taking a route that runs parallel to I-95 so we kept crossing back and forth over the dreaded interstate, but never touched it. Our hotel tonight is in a little town called Darien. We are actually staying close to I-95 again so we ventured into "downtown" Darien for dinner. ... days ago, we left Hidden Harbor, and traveled about five miles downstream to Morningstar Marina at Golden Isles, just across a bridge from St. Simon’s Island. We are meeting friends from Grafton Harbor, Rhonda and Dave Lang, who arrive tomorrow. The Langs keep their boat, Cat’s Meow, docked at Morningstar nowadays and we look forward to spending some time with them.

We spent the next few days in Brunswick, Georgia with our new friends Kevin and Lora.
