We awoke later than planned – the jt lag is still there – not yet on American time. However we had bought a container of fruit salad the night before and that did us for breakfast along with a cappuccino we purchased at Panera (a chain of bakeries). We decided to try and get to the Frick Collection and thought it would take us about an hour – 1.5 hours. To get there we bravely bought a metro card – good for ...

          Day 27

Well it's my final day in the Big Apple. Have thoroughly enjoyed this great city.

Set off to see the HighLine - an old rail line of NY which has been lovingly restored to a walkway garden. Unfortunately a substantial section was temporarily closed to the public - but I got to walk aways on it.

... fresh sea air, then had lunch there.

US had a hundred million dollar Powerball draw today, and Ben purchased a ticket for those who wanted to buy one – and if one of us won, it was to be shared winnings. Good fun, we had a nice time thinking and laughing about 'our winnings’ ... but unfortunately we didn’t!!!!!! We received our group photo too, and list of emails if we want to stay in contact.

... one day. We were there for about an hour around 3am NY time, 7am Iceland time, and 9am Manchester time – it was bright and sunny but we hadn't really been to sleep, we didn't really know if we were coming or going. I tried again on the second plane with my trusty eye mask (probably the most useful thing I've had on the entire trip) but by then was getting excited about going home. I even recognised lots as we came into land over ...

I wasn't expecting the amazing and thoughtful gifts that they brought. Jewelry with encouraging inscriptions, US dollars!, heart felt cards, and medical supplies! (Carri, yours count as medical supplies) It was awesome to add some clean clothes to my backpack! Thanks Lady!
