In addition, billboards advertise a dream course Tiger Woods is developing here. The 2009 Great Smoky Mountains Golf Trails brochure extols the glories of mountain golf: moderate weather, great scenery. ... tricycle. Oh, and we can&#8217;t forget witch dog and pirate dog. The poor triceratops. It was a lot of walking for such a little tike and his head kept falling on his face. But he was persistent and never got cranky. He was fascinated by the grim reapers. He&#8217;d walk up and stare and follow them around. When his sister was teasing him for not getting closer, mom said, &#8220;Don&#8217;t laugh, when you were that age you would have ...

A campsite with a million dollar view

We spent 3 days in the Mountains near Asheville, N.C. The R.V. resort was a small one, about 25 sites but situated high in the mountains with a great view. <br>A visit to the Biltmore Estate and Chimney Rock is a must when in this area. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also nearby.

Resting in Asheville

... shop to coffee shop to wine bar to the hostel. It was great. Asheville is a great little mountain town. It has a very good music scene (we heard a fantastic Bluegrass jam one night!). The food is fantastic, and they put a lot of emphasis on locally-grown and organic foods. And the beer is wonderful - several good local microbrews. After recharging in North Carolina for two days, we decided to head south to Georgia. Next stop: the Chatahoochee Forest!

The Great Smokies

Well, since I am starting this travelogue a bit into our journey, I am going to back track about a month to fill you all in. Our first stop was in Asheville, North Carolina which is a hip town located in western part of the state. Asheville is located up in the mountains which keeps the weather questionable, and the scenery exquisite. Asheville was our first encounter of the illusive "friendly folk".. oh, yes, they do exist, although they often ...
