Best Western Belleville

Johnstown was cute. It had all these shops and random museums, like the museum of hardware and the museum of maple syrup. Supposedly there's quite a Mennonite community there. Also a broom store, antiques, pottery and other randoms. There were these little chocolate balls at the bakery called rum balls, I had to try one. Anyway, again...I'll put pics up when I get home, they are the best.

... Are" with Steph and Madie! -- try not to laugh too loud, it's embarassing! haha) But for real, I am going to miss everyone so much, and expect a very tearful goodbye at the bar on Sunday. For those of you who know me, know I am terrible with goodbyes, and for those of you who know me even better know I am not shy to let out a tear at the bar (Denise, Nick Kotel!) haha

I am extremely excited though! And cannot wait to share ...

Just here to reunite with the BF before heading down to Toronto and Niagara for the weekend! Absolutely nothing happening here.. I've only been here for a grand total of 3 days and it's already boring! :P Just grabbed him after his exam finished and walked to the mall and back, transferred everything from my pack back into evil duffel bag from hell [how i didn't miss thee..] and went to one of our friend's houses to crash for the night.

... felt like it was in the middle of nowhere. I reluctantly took a taxi to near the bf's school, where I waited inside of a Tim Hortons for an hour with an ice cap [mmm.. ice caps..] until he appeared.

From that point until I left for Ottawa on Saturday morning, my entire stay in Belleville was marred with confusion. First, no one told me I strictly forbidden from entering his dorm, so I had to remain downstairs while forcing poor ...

... we were asked by border control if we had any guns "no", Mace "eh no" or any other items of self defence - "only Edie". 

We pulled up outside the cabin and it was sheer delight to see Jo and Paul once again and even better that they had the wine chilled,  The cabin was beside the lake with kayaks, canoes and fishing rods and a hot tub ready.  The children leapt out of the car and within minutes they were running around with Cameron and Jenna as if they had been mates for years.
  

we spent three days at Consecon, just south of Trenton, we rode our bike thru the back country lanes, watched beautiful sunsets and Brent went to the airshow in Trenton, Jo stayed home and did her nails!!! Or something.
This is a lovely part of the country.

... but we have a good vantage point nevertheless and the kids even saw a raccoon just before the Fireworks, so that added to the night’s enjoyment. We found a good cheap hotel despite the time (11pm) crashed an got up early (for us) and checked out the Falls in daytime.

... saw a Nicholas Cage flick. Of course busking galour I even had a wonderfuly kind gal hold my hat and greet people during my performance. Life was grand and relaxing, it had been 8 days on the road up until that point so I was extremely grateful for some cooked meals, a shower and and clothing wash. Erin graciously held me for nearly a week, thank you kindly! Gosh darn I read books ...

The bike is washed and waxed and the bags are mostly packed and ready to strapped on. I'm just finishing up a few last-minute jobs around the house before I leave for the next 5 weeks. It's been 4 years since I took any sort of lengthy bike trip and I can hardly wait to go. I plan to be on the road around 4am (we'll see how that turns out!) an will hopefully make it to Thunder Bay nightfall. This is going to be an important trip, I think (hope). A chance to purge some ...

... or so. But this time, I bought my laptop, got a great deal from a friend who owns a computer shop (Bryson Dockrill, On-Site Computers, Belleville, ON) and then i bought a new camera yesterday. It was pretty nice! Fujifilm finepix s700 superzoom with 10x optical zoom and 7 megapixels. It was about $400... and then someone stole it from inside my house last night!
