1 Humffray Street Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, 3350, 3-5333-1363
Set off today for Sovereign Hill and to try our luck at gold panning. At first look it didn't look like there was going to be much to do but got to the end of the day and hadn't seen a lot. The kids liked the tour down the quartz mine as it started in a "ride"down into a mine in cargo cart train.. in darkness. Other things we did or saw was candle colouring by dipping in coloured wax, old time 9 pin bowling, watching a very funny pantomine, the boys became soldiers for an hour and ...
Ballarat, Victoria, Australia drownsroundausG'day everyone, We arrived safely in Ballarat and headed straight for the Eureka Stockade Caravan Park and found ourselves smack bang under the Southern Cross flag flying above the Information Centre. The centre itself is right on the very spot where the Eureka Stockade took place. We took a short drive into town to check out the city centre and to keep well away from the bakeries, as Dave can't eat pies in every town we go to. Ballarat has a population of around ...
Ballarat, Victoria, Australia serenitynow... was fandabidosee! we spent all day there - got wet - went down the mines - met some real weirdos - and todays meet of the day is a couple from bristol who have just emigrated... they too are finding things hard being away from home at this time of year! after a long chat with them (yep we all moaned about the weather - a very british thing to do) we had a ride in the ...
Ballarat, Australia keenosG'Day, Its the tenth of April; This mourning was a very disturbing mourning. I woke up and woke up in thought. Thoughts about my past experiences in life... self reflection.(A theme I seemed to have picked up since I got here.) I finally get up after 2 hours of a pure thought line and get some breky . I ate Milo cereal with powdered milk and a orange. I then walked over to accounts to get change for laundry. I walk in and see Maureen... I ask her if I can donate ...
Mailing Rd., Australia carolinesheart... love with some chick in Switzerland) BUT I did get my first lovely 'aussie' kiss from him. Score one for Jenny! Hehe (Sorry mom and dad!!) Naw, it was in good fun though :) So by the time I hit the sack it was about 6am (eeeek!!) then I had to wake up at a stinking 8am to pack all my gear and check out by 10! Since then, I've just been hanging out around the hostel chattin it up with some random people. Last bit of news to report. I ...
North Melbourne, Australia sunshinetrekker... ngnis gelaufen.
Melbourne, Australia rootaberger... we aquaplaned the car straight over a roundabout and over a roadsign which the little car didnt like as we broke the raidiator! ooooopppsss! but we were 40km from home at 11pm at night! so we attached the bumper which was hanging off back on the car and drove on back to Melbourne, with steam surrounding the car, and it kept cutting out and we hit nearly every traffic light at red! and drove through the city centre! somehow we managed to avoid being spotted by the ...
Melbourne, Australia heliwalker... They even had decided on a currency. We all walked in a huddle, because the Melbournites thought it was cold....I don't think they have tried going out in Auckland in the middle of winter!Okay Velour Bar, Well yea all I can compare it to is Provedor . Melbourne, Australia lillirenee... the grounds of a small vineyard and was home to around 20 Alpacas. we spent our time in the Yarra valley relaxing and visiting numerous Wineries where Jo helped Steve's mum (Cath) get a little tipsy. We left the Yarra valley and traveled south to Philip Island. Philip Island was much smaller than we had imagined and we spent the day touring around it's narrow tracks. We raced some go-carts around the F1 Bike Track, Jo was left eating Steve's ...
Ballarat and Beyond, Australia escapefromuk... was a pile of small rocks and that was where the water went, underground to continue there journey out of sight. We did enjoy the walk through the forest and still get a thrill out of seeing a splash of colour as the king parrots, lorikeets, crimson rosellas and other rainbow coloured birds swoop through the canopy. We also spotted an unusually and possibly dangerous looking catterpilla, we didn't get too close! Our next venture was a 4.2km trek to an outcrop of rocks known ...
