Brussels, without appendicitis this time!

A travel blog entry by trevor_lorraine

... I booked our hotel online. Easy. Except that it wasn't in the centre of Offenburg, but up the hill, on the edges of the black forest, among the vines. Fortunately, we were able to catch a bus. A long bus ride. But worth it!. The view of the Rhine valley to the west, from the vineyards was spectacular. Lucky we didn't have to walk. And also fortunate that there was a nearby restaurant, serving local Fessenbach wines, beer and too much ...

We woke up after a wonderful sleep in a world class Hotel, the Le Meridien, thanks to my brother for the hook up. We got a rather late start this morning, and headed out for some breakfast. We stopped at the first waffle place we came to an ordered the world famous Belgian waffle, with strawberrys (in season) and whip cream. Not a bad way to start the day. ... There seem to be lots of museums around town but we had already had our fair share during the trip, and were quite content with sitting at a cafe with a glass of wine, or a large Kwak (local beer served in a very large test tubish glass) in the Markt square.

We were reluctant to leave such a beautiful place as we knew we had two travels days which signaled the end of our trip. Off to Amsterdam for one last hurrah.
