... only truly realised when we aimed to get back to collect our luggage and go to the airport. We had found out about a handy taxi service called Uber, basically you can call a taxi and even share the costs with others to keep the fare down. As an upside we managed to get our fare across Los Angeles for just 15 dollars, bargain. What we didn't realise is that we wouldn't leave Santa Monica for around 20 minutes due to picking someone else up and then ...

... is an Art Gallery, botanic gardens, view of LA etc at 1pm for lunch. Ash & Kristi got there about 12:15. We were trying to get there by one, first up the GPS took us up all these curly back streets in a residential area until we finally got to a sign that said, you will not get to the Getty centre, your GPS is wrong. ... you like self contained resorts it does look very nice.

Upon arrival back in Waikiki I sat by the pool for a little bit before heading down the beach to my final surf lesson. I wanted to squeeze in one more lesson on the new size surf board. Today I finally started to figure out the weight balance on this board so it didn’t stall (or nosedive if I weighted too far forward!) so that was a fun lesson. I had instructor Tory (sp?) today and the waves were varied ...

Today we visited Santa Monica and had a fantastic day, I absolutely loved it there! It was a 40 minute bus ride to Santa Monica from our hotel and it was nice to see a bit more of LA from the air conditioned bus (and only cost $1! bargain!). Santa Monica has a completely different atmosphere to Beverly Hills. It has more of a holiday mode feel to it, I guess being on the water contributes to that. We arrived fairly early ...
