So today after our flight was 1 hour delayed (damn Ryanair!) we managed to arrive safely into Madrid, navigate our way to the hotel and get a good nights rest.
I got such a suprise at how warm it was at night! Was great!
Our hotel was perfect, large and roomy, with air con!!
The lift was TINY! Seriously - there were 2 lifts and one of them was only a 2 man lift, WITHOUT bags! Was hilarious!!
Marvellous Madrid The number of available destinations from East Midlands Airport seems to be growing on a daily basis - with Sterling Air a newcomer offering flights several times a week to each of Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm, BMI Baby announcing flights to Gdansk and Ryanair rapidly increasing the number of European choices. We are regulars with Ryanair despite our dislike of the free-for-all boarding system that occurs regularly but Sterling Air remain a cheap airline but with allocated...

Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands emily.adamsWith Diana and Michelle Flew to Madrid-arrived early afternoon. We split up to check inot our hotels. Ours was near the Grand Via. The odd shaped elevators and they always stopped on the 2nd floor. Met Michelle under the Tio Pepe sign in the Plaza del Sol and ate at a local restaurant-ravioli. Toured the Palace-beautiful! Chandeliers, asian decor, roccocco sculted ceilings. Nice armory. Many different languages heard. The loud party in the cafeteria upstairs with the dancer and the music-it w...
Madrid, Spain lisa02148 Hey one and all.....
So in the land of bull fighting, etc. and we ended up in the Spanish capital of Madrid.
We got a late flight out of Malaga up to Madrid, which meant we arrived at about 9pm at night. Not a problem though as the trip from the airport is very very easy. Basically jump on a train, jump off a train, jump on another train and finally jump off the train and you are there.
We managed to score a pretty cheap bed for the next 3 nights right in the middle of M...

... in to charge while heading off somewhere else. We eventually ended up in the bar where there are a few powerpoints, and while I waited for the laptop to charge for just on two hours I proceeded to download some 250MB of software updates for my MacBook - that will teach the hostel not to be more laptop user friendly! Latter in the evening we finally managed to get the comfortable chairs in the chill out room where we spent a quiet evening reading and doing Sudoku.
Madrid, Spain winston... Parker is great, and Madonna is the best singer in the world! You Americans love your television, all Italians don't make wine, Italians can't talk to their boyfriends in Italy from Spain, "America" is a country and a few more. Of course my color question is a legend in other parts of the University, and on orientation, when speaking in front of the program, "Yo Queiro....", (what you want, like or love) I filled ...

The train ride to Sevilla was quick and efficient on the AVE. My parents had not been on a train in 30+ years so it was almost novel for them but they were so exhausted that they kept nodding off. I enjoyed the ride and seeing the countryside. It's amazing to see a bit of a ...

... capital of Spain. It was a small old little town about an hour away and we really enjoyed the day there. The big highlight is the huge historical church. Click here for more pictures of Toledo We went back to the hotel and took a nap before our big night at the club because we were told it's not even worth showing up before 1:00. So, we went out to dinner at about midnight and did some ...
