... a visit to Eglise de la Madeleine - a beautiful church that is apparently a very popular for weddings. Just in front of the alter a music recital was taking place - 2 violinist & a cellist. (Liz hearing the cello reminded me of Damien!). It is now sprinkling outside & very cold - might try & get to Basilique du Sacre-Coeur & check out the shops on the Champs-Élysées & the Arc de Triompe. Hope everyone is well back ...

We then veered off to the Grand Trianon, and the Petit Trianon - the escape from the escape for the Louis' and especially for Marie Antoinette, but not nearly as elaborate as the main palace. ... all around us. The sun had come out and allowed us to move on from our haunting experience. It was time for more walking. I had read about another canal (we do know we are slightly obsessed with them, but they are so brilliant!) this one required many stops and changes on the tube. ... place is small and popular. To get around this, we decided to go there at North American supper hours (5:30) instead of Euro hours. Much to our delight, we got right in (about 30 mins later they started turning people who did not have a reservation away).
