Front desk not present, had to call for service. Hotel is not very old, still in good clean condition. It's out of the way and occupancy was low.

... was right on the water but also had a lovely grassy backyard. We were joined by Sarah, Evan, Rebecca and Graham so had a house full of kids, lots of croquet, knitting, campfires and special places ( Treasure Island). On Saturday Sandra, Keith, Kate, Holly and Bear joined us for a rollicking BBQ and day of fun. On Sunday we headed back for one more night at Jimmy and Helen's where Daryl and Heather ...

Took the Winnebago for a trial run to Sunset Lakes in Hillsdale, IL for three nights. Pretty easy drive out, great site for the RV. Disappointed that the pool was closed but the weather was perfect. Took a canoe ride, rode bikes, adapting to our new home on wheels. Met some wonderful people from Montgomery, AL, Joe and Lois. - reminded us of the folks we bought the Motorhome ...

In the morning, we decided to drive the "heritage trail" a self-guided car tour through Amish country that leads you past farms, villages and a cheese factory where we caught a glimpse of the production of cheese, and, of course, bought some for the road ahead.

In the afternoon, as the sky was getting darker, we hit the ...

Crossing the Ohio River brought us to the southern tip of Illinois. Within the first two hours of roaming the forested regions of our own state we encountered seven cars along the side of the interstate held temporary hostage by flashing red and blue lights. Most of the situations occurred with undercover police cars, one resembling Lorraine. After two weeks on the road we barely witnessed any traffic stops except for a few accidents during ...

... Bread. It keeps the kids happy. Then finally made it to our first campsite at Lake Anita Campground. Very picturesque. We took a nice long bike ride around the lake. Glad to have a little real relax time.

Made a nice BBQ dinner and sat by the campfire. Tomorrow is another long day of driving but we are headed to South Dakota to visit Mt Rushmore so we are all ...
