... by eight gardens. We bought a 7-day pass for $55 each that allowed us to visit all of the museums, and went to the park several times. All of the museums were fairly small and none of them would took more than 90 minutes to see, so we visited about 10 of them. Our favorite was probably the Railroad Museum. It had a half a dozen layouts with over 100 miles of scale track in replicas of the California countryside. Some sections were still being built up ...

... an adjustment, and not just the time change. Life moves so much faster here in the States, and we had grown to love the slow pace of Ireland. The hills here are brown and dry, we miss the emerald green rolling hills and flowing pastures of sheep and cattle. We were in Arizona recently and saw a tractor driving down a road, it made us long for the small narrow lanes of Ireland. Cities are so large and bustling, the buildings seemingly so new ...

... the city for one night has made me long for the mountains again. My heart lies with the peaceful essence of nature, not with the hustle and bustle of vibrant city life. The traffic is crazy, with eight lane freeways, and traffic jams at all hours of the day. There are so many people everywhere I turn that it seems as though you would never be able to just “get away” from it all. While it’s nice to visit and see a new place, I know I could ...
