      ... pretty great. We also tried a heidelbeer (like a bluberry) dampnudelen, which is a large bun looking thing with berry filling and warm vanilla sauce poured over it. We had these the last time at a Christmas market some years back, but these were not as good as the ones we remembered. Not to worry. We will find good ones in our future quests.       Ignoring the typical grey sky of a North German autumn we headed out to the spectacular town of Monschau which was established about 1000 years ago.       On Sunday, we embarked on our journey from Kaiserslautern, Germany to Brugge, Belgium. We had a scheduled FIVE trains to get us to our destination.
