... from the exit of GM. After a short lunch, we drove on through the Michigan countryside where we viewed our first deer running across an open meadow, a beautiful sight. We also saw quite a few wild turkey by the side of the road.
We reached the Canadian border at Port Huron where we were met with another downpour from the same storm. Our border wait took about five minutes and a pleasant agent welcomed us and we were free to enter. Welcome to Canada, eh!
... biodiesel - our sprinter engine warranty has an issue if there is more than 5% biodiesel in the fuel - not sure how they would know. After a few unsuccessful attempts to obtain biodiesel-free fuel in Illinois and Indiana, we gave up and drove on to Michigan where we found what we needed. We lost another hour on the clock and arrived in Battle Creek at 7 pm.
We saw a lot of corn and soy farms ...
... started to look for our campsite. As it turned out it was old info from the internet and the village and campsite did not exist anymore. Wal-Mart here we come and it was a very good parking spot with a lovely view of cornfields and green hills.

... would say that is about accurate for Victoria as well since our feed usually comes late August/early September of the local corn. I didn't notice where this corn came from but it was especially good.
We will hang out here two nights before settling into our campsite near/at the Michigan International Speedway on Wednesday in preparation for the Nascar racing weekend. I think Denis is starting to get excited.
... said she would give me the meal as a gift. I refused and said I know exactly what I had and I insisted to have it added to the bill. Ursula would have nothing of it and sure enough, Saturday night's dinner was on the house! What a nice gesture and it will further endear me to the Oberland for future visits! If you ever get to Lauterbrunnen, there is no other but the Hotel Oberland with Mark and Ursula! I then walked to the train station and got the train down ...
