Normally the boathouse has replica's of the 3 boats that LC took up river from here but they are currently in Canada as part of an HBO miniseries being filmed about the LC adventure. This trip was a Mississippi River themed trip; we followed the river down from St.
Louis to New Orleans. Sometimes we think it’s fun to have a theme for the trip which
weaves together all the cities we plan to visit (for example, our last trip to the Southwest

We had a really nice day taking our time getting to St. Louis today. It was just under 300 miles from Springfield but we planned several stops to get the most out of the journey.
