Our next stop was the Beidenharn House & Museum. This was the home of the man who was the original bottler of Coka Cola. We saw the lovely home & its gardens that had been built in the early 1900's. Mr. Joe's daughter Emma, a famous contralto with the London opera, built on to it in the 50's & made it into the lovely home you see today. ...

Marie had thought it would only take 2 1/2 hours to drive to Byers Texas to see Linda June. But when she checked on line, it showed 6 1/2 hours!. Then because Marie didn't want to drive through Dallas, we didn't use the Interstate freeway, but used smaller roads, making it a 9 1/2 hour trip Was an interesting trip with plenty of time for Marie and I to talk and get to know about each other's lives. No air conditioning in the car, so had to ...

We took a late evening walk so Kallen could 'rock hunt'. He insisted on taking some rocks home!

We leave tomorrow for Lake Charles and board our train around 2pm. We'll be home on Tuesday! Kallen is getting homesick and thought we were going to be home tomorrow....poor guy!

Picked up a great idea today ...
