... or delays) and we are given a couple of certificates to upgrade our seats to Business Class.
On this particular flight, it happened that very few business seats had been sold, we had the opportunity to upgrade and we jumped on it. What a treat! Never mind the champagne or orange juice when you first board, but the quality of food and the wines that went with it was terrific. It has ...
... cafés are. Finally the storm had passed east of the city so we drove to the national park after all, and Marie and Gary also came along. They took us on a loop hike through the park that they had done before past a beaver pond, although we didn’t see any beavers. We also did an interpretive walk along the edge of the lake. The park rangers were putting on a bannock day (like damper) so we tried some of that, and the ranger let me try a Saskatoon berry from a tree growing ...
Calgary, Alberta, Canada sarzmc... This morning Melissa met some friends at the park. They didn’t speak English so she tried “Bonjour”. They didn’t understand that so she tried “Hola” LOL. She’s so funny! She came to get me because she thought one of them said they were from Switzerland. It turns out they were and I used my limited Swiss for the first time in years.
Today we went back to the Olympic Park and went through the Hall of Fame Museum ...
... that it is a bit of a trick to actually get your luggage into the train! The train is not level with the track, we have to climb up 4 narrow stairs, windy narrow stairs. We each packed light: 30 pounds of luggage for me, 38 pounds for Susan. Behind us the Italians are saying adiamo, (lets go, let go). With a supreme effort we get our baggage up and onto the train and collapse into the compartment. I spend the next 30 minutes worrying about how we are ...

Calgary, Alberta, Canada rossport... was also there with her husband Graham and daughter Mara, who enjoyed chasing around behind the kids as they went crazy in the garden. We had a plan to go to the Tyrrell Museum the next day and decided it made sense to carry on to Lethbridge rather than have two driving days. We woke the next morning and farewelled amd thanked our hosts, Janice and Pat, and headed off to our next destination, Lethbridge in southern Alberta, Canada.
Calgary, Alberta, Canada chrisl34... area where we were practising. More or less all of them didn't make it over the jump anyway, but we weren't being beaten so we walked up the hill next to the magic carpet and practised there. The walk up added to the exercise so it was tiring, but because it was also a bit steeper it helped us learn as when the kids bit reopened we found it easier. It wasn't long before we'd had enough for a first day and headed off to take a peek from ...
Mount Norquay, Alberta, Canada paulleck1975... they serve their steaks on sizzling iron plates for presentation. This totally dried out and overcooked my t-bone. There's nothing worse than a ruined steak! Another less-interesting development - on board, I noticed new types of air sickness bags. It's like an envelope made of wax paper, complete with a stick strip to seal it. But why? Perhaps somebody would like to mail home their puke as a souvenir? They showed an episode of Top Gear on board for entertainment ...
Calgary, Alberta, Canada pwong... Devonian gardens; this idyllic spot sits peacefully on the 4th floor above the hustle and bustle of city life below. With sunlight pouring through the atrium roof we strolled amongst marvelous specimens, many we recognized as modest house plants we have at home. The hanging baskets we found suspended over the pool were just beautiful, wonder if they replant them each year Nita?
One place we visited twice was one of the Farmers markets ...
