Sehr freundliches Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member

Atrocious!!!

Just returned from paris after spending a lovely long weekend in a fabulous hotel. NOT THE PRINTANIA REPUBLIQUE! We (myself and girlfriend) spent only 2 hours in the hotel before moving due to renovation work. Building work was being carried out on every floor from the reception area to the 5th floor, we were on the 6th. There were rolls of carpet, bags of rubbish and electrical tools lying all over the narrow stairs, the only fire escape.

The bedroom was small, tiny wardrobe that didn't open, gas radiator held together with sticky tape, shower curtain on the floor, blind didn't work.

Very Friendly Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights 22 -25 march 2006.

Because I am a disabled quest who was travelling alone, I needed to be able to book excursions that included hotel pickup and return to the hotel. The staff could not have been any more helpful, they arranged everything for me, and ensured I had English speaking tour quides, although I did not specifically request this, but my French is very limited. All the reception staff spoke English.

The hotel has a lift to all floors, which was very helpful for me. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. There was adequate cloths storage and an excellent digital safety deposit box. The bathroom was spotless and serviced every day by the very pleasant hotel maid service. The breakfast room was friendly and the fare offered very good and plentiful.

I would not hesitate to book into the hotel again.

Friendly, but noisy

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed in the hotel during new years eve. The location of the hotel is very close to several metro stations. There are also a lot of shops and restaurants nearby the hotel, but we didn't shop or eat there.

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Especially the black lady (I can't remember her name). But the breakfast is bad, if you want to have a nice holiday, then take your breakfast somewhere else and enjoy some good coffee and croissants in one of the many (expensive) bars there are in Paris. The rooms are small but clean, you have TV with dvd (you can also borrow some movies at the reception). The hotel had an arrangement with a parking garage a few blocks away. I don't recommend it, because it's very small and I got my car back with some scrapes on it...

The rooms are a little bit noisy, some guys next to our room where having a discussion late at night and we could hear it word-by-word. And also you hear other people go to the toilet...

Overall you can say, nice hotel for the price you pay. If you want something better turn 300 meters to your left and check in at the Holiday Inn.

All the necessities with a little extra

from A TripAdvisor Member
A very convenient location, a reasonable 20 minutes walk to Hotel-De-Ville, 1 minute away from Place de la Republique. It is also notable that a journey from/to the CDG airport took us only 45 minutes (RER + 2 underground stops). Yet, the location is quiet.

The room is basic with the tube bath and DVD player as extras. Unlike my previous stays in Paris, the breakfast was quite generous. We gladly used the option to order it to your room (no extra charge).

The price was also reasonable, considering the season (Christmas).

Euro Dump

from A TripAdvisor Member
I have just returned from the printania hotel out in paris/france and it was a disgrace. I wouldn't even allow my dogs to stay in the room.

This is because the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable the bath was dirty and unhygienic with what looked like snot dripping down the sides! The shower was very weak which ment we were unable during our 4 night stay to bath our shower and in my oppinion it is not fit for human inhabitation. We had recieved our room to find that we were on the top floor(6th floor) and the lift was temporarily out of use but was seen working.

There was also three of us sharing this room and the cupboard was very small with only having 6 hangers to accomidate 3 girls.

All in all this was a dreadful experiance and i will definatly not be returning.

Recommended middle-class hotel

from Frunobulax
Finding a good hotel in Paris for an affordable price is hard. The Printania is such a hotel and offers a number of features that shouldn't be taken for granted in a 3-star hotel in Paris:

- Modern, clean bathrooms.

- friendly english-speaking receptionists 24/7 (some of them speak german too)

- good breakfast buffet

- satellite TV (english and german channels)

Among the 4 hotels that I visited in Paris (all 3 stars), this is by far the best one. Recommended.

Be careful, there are two hotels with the name "Printania" in Paris. I'm talking about the one in 19, rue du Chateau d Eau, 75010 Paris .

Grat Stay!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Hotel Printania Republique is located 1 1/2 blocks away from metro station Jaques Bonsergeant (Line 5) and few meters from the Place de la Republique, it isn't a very touristic area, but it's close to everything walking or by metro. We were assigned to room 307 and it faced the street Chateau D'Eau (so it was a bit noisy). The room was clean, not too small and confortable, but had no shower (only bathtub).

The breakfast was very nice compared to what french use to mean for petit dejaneur. So for us the breakfast was an over average value. The staff was nice, English and Spanish speaking, and were glad to confirm our flights back to our country with the airline. We had a very nice stay in this hotel and surely recommend it.

What a surprise!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Excellent quality/price ratio, and a beautiful surprise: a not too touristic part of the city but close to the trendiest part of it as to bars and clubs: the gay district! WOW! The hotel itself is very nice, with neat, quiet and wide rooms, compared to what I've seen in other hotels in Paris (ohmygod!). Good average continental beakfast, slightly over the average I must say. 24h reception (fundamentaal for going out at night). What more to say.... I definitely recommend it.
