This morning we departed Medford for a 3 hour drive to Newport. Newport is a small town located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Louise drove the first leg of the trip, her first time driving in the US on the other side of the road. The roads were rather up and down and curvy through the valleys. After a few short pit stops along the way we …

Both were spectacular, and it's about time, ...

... day after the hike. Leaving the parking area (the one marring all of my photos of the headlands), we noticed a sign for additional tide pools that-a-way and agreed we should check it out. Although the main parking lot was full with cars circling for a spot, this new area had only one other car. Hidden gem or boring? There appeared to be ...

          Dear Friends,

We woke up at the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park Campground. It was very foggy when we woke up. After we all woke up and got dressed, we went to the Umpqua Lighthouse. The Lighthouse was very neat and old fashion. The lens was cool because it was one of only 8 left of its type. The other thing is it is the one of the last 2 of its type still working. After the Lighthouse we drove out to the Oregon ...
