    This morning we departed Medford for a 3 hour drive to Newport. Newport is a small town located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.     ... morning. Dad says he and I will go to Starbucks while mom does her exercise thing. Mom and dad had lunch at a place called Local Oceans Seafood. Mom was happy to enjoy some oyster shooters. All the seafood is local and most of the seafood they buy off the local fishing boats. A stroll along the pier afterwards to see the Sea Lions was fun.....but are they noisy! More Newport tomorrow and then some hiking along with seeing Yaquina bay ...

    ... something on the way. I actually had that planned not knowing how long again the oil change would take, I am glad in a way, we are now at the Best Western oceanview and quite breathtaking with the sun now setting over the ocean. We will start out tomorrow and head south to go to Sea Lion Caves to do what else but see the Sea Lions. It's supposed to be the biggest underground cave to view them, we shall see. More to come ...

    Had our quickest pack up today and were on the road by 8 o clock. Ben needed to use the Internet which is good news for me as it means we have to buy a hot drink and possibly even something to eat! So far we have been on (fairly) strict rations to save money.
