Can we have our Boomerang back please?

We knew we had to get the Audi back by 11 and were ready to leave by 10. As we placed bags in the Audi we decided to have a couple of final throws with the boomerang. After a few minutes of fun, as Nikki collected the boomerang she said "one more". This was a mistake, Sod's Law prevailed and her adventurous throw resulted in the boomerang flying up, around, over our heads and onto the cottage roof!!! Paul re-lived childhood memories of asking the neighbours for his football back as we walked ...

It goes very well with the blue skies...!

Unfortunately, the large garden does not contain a pool, but it does have a big trampoline... hmmm... the former is ...

Conversations with old people

... 70s crowd... but lo and behold, I was soon waved over to a table, chock full of said over 70s, and pounced upon, conversationally speaking. I had a robust discussion with the preacher (I refuse to use the word Reverend, as I now disagree with the whole concept of ordination) over the role of spiritual awareness and exorcism in the modern church (his views were surprisingly and refreshingly balanced and wise) and then was invited to lunch with a couple in their mid 80s, Dolci and Bob ...

Savannah Walkabout

... we headed off to see some kangaroos. The kangaroos were at another park. This one was designed as a bird sanctuary, but there was plenty of non-bird wildlife in the area as well. We did see plenty of birds though. We saw some rare grey geese, some sort of black duck thing with a gobbler, and some emus. The emus make a sound similar to a timpani or base drum. We were able to get pretty close to them before they startled. Next, we went in search of kangaroos ...

Testing Betsy in Torquay

... Betsy's first road trip and she was going great guns! It was such a good feeling to have this first run out in her. Ed was very keen to start fishing with Al's new rod so as soon as camp was set up we all headed straight to the beach. To our amazement we caught two small Australian salmon called Bruce and Sheila! They were really small, but Zoe had never had fresh line ...

Still in Melbourne

... not in climate but in attitudes). Its only one hour but this gesture in Sydney alone last year was the same as removing 48,000 cars from the road so on a worldwide scale should be pretty awesome. I hope, na trust, you will all play your part in this event and break out the candles for a few games of cards, a romantic liasion or just a good old natter with someone without the distraction of Pat Kenny, Jonathan Ross or Simon fecking Cowell in the background. We are gonna ...

Driving on The Great Ocean Road

... a good place to stop overnight. You soon learn when driving anywhere in Australia that there can be many hundreds or even thousands of kilometres between towns in certain parts of Australia and looking at my map Port Campbell seemed to be a good choice to rest up for the night. In any case Port Campbell is near the famous Twelve Apostles Rock formations and it would be a good place to make a start in the morning ...

Williamstown voyage

... Ryan got done around 10, I brought him a lil snack, an egg roll with ham, and we were on our way to Williamstown, a 10 minute train ride from Yarraville. It is a really pretty beach town, a peninsula, with cafes, fish and chips and a lot of ice cream shops! The view over Melbourne is amazing from there, it is so spread out. We had a really nice stroll around the town ...

Neighbours.... everybody needs good Neighbours

... Rooney does not play for the cricket team. I think I saw a representative from almost every Football League Club. It's a cricket match lads. If you want to wear a shirt, and you've forked out 600 quid for a ticket to Australia the least you could do is splash out another 40 on a cricket top. Nobody from Sheffield Wednesday is playing. Secondly, well done to them for coming up with lots of songs, but did they really have to repeat the ...
