WHAT NO SWIMMING POOL!

... br>
We have experienced Manitou and the Dead Sea, since we are here, we are going to Karlovy Vary to try out the waters. We have been looking online as to where we can float in the water, but there only seem to be spas who do all kinds of treatment, some with Dr.'s prescriptions. They also drink the water.

We arrive at the tourist office and ask where we go to float in the water. Well, there isn’t any ...

... sausages for lunch. Was half cut - half a litre of beer with jetlagg...interesting combination.

Flew from Prague on the dodgiest little plane, Jarrad was pulling sticky tape off the cabin and announcing outloud that we might not make it alive. Hmmmmm they also made the mistake of asking him to complete the customer survey...

Went out on the bikes yesterday to explore town. Amazing - bus loads of tourists arrive here daily. Photos don't do it justice.

New Years Day in Karlovy Vary

We took a day trip to this beautiful crystal and spa town. It is noted for its water. People come from all over. It is suppose to help ailments of all kinds. There are several places in town that sell ceramic vases to use to drink from the fountains throughout the city. We strolled around for several ...

Carlsbad-the town

... tale town, but it was so windy we couldn't stay long. The only way up or down was on an old squeeky elevator since they were re-painting the stairs so we had to wait like a herd od sheep to squeeze into it. Yesterday took us to a REAL castle, 750 years old and just like a fairy tale surrounded by a river moat. It was complete with torture chambers and dungeons,( our favorite part and the best haunted house ever!) and a tower to keep the princesses safe-pics to ...

More Prague visits and Karlovy Vary(Carlsbad)

... Boheminan Crystal and Czech porcelian as well as Moser Czech glass. Karlovy Vary is the town that I grew up in as a young boy (even though I always say I grew up in Penticton). I'm somewhat familiar with the area but it has been great having Teta Kvyeta as a tour guide. She is a dedicated history buff and also worked for her whole working life in a glass and porcelian store so she is also very familiar with the history of these ...

Back on the road again

... No joke. Needed to get this long one out now so the others can follow soon enough after. After an interesting year and half in Doha, Qatar I thought it was time to hit the road again and see what else is around the corner. As it turns out once again there is heaps. I arrived in London and spent a week seeing mates and going out to Wimbledon for a look ...

Day Trip No 1

... places that have only but fame to save them from oblivion. There's nothing particularly special about it. A small town built at the banks of this river. Hot springs are all over the town, so are older people a lot of Russian crowds. At the end of the winding road by the river, there is the Hotel Pupp, where the latest James Bond movie, casino royal was filmed. Other than that, by 5.00pm the street is empty and only restaurants are open. The scenery is marvelous, the river, the ...

At least it's not raining...

... rowdy fans) from Prague cheering AC Sparta on. They cheered and chanted constantly. They had about 10 different cheers they knew. You can always tell how dedicated a team's fans are by how many cheers they have. My visit to Karlovy Vary is another experience I wish I had company on. It's just not the same by yourself. There are tons of tourists here but very few speaking English. There are more signs in Russian and German than English. The same was true in Plzen. Well, not the ...

A DAY TRIP TO KARLOVY VARY

This day trip to Karlovy Vary is a must.

It is such a beautiful city famous for its hot springs. Nice beautiful houses, and the river running through the city makes the place a paradise.

Don't forget to buy (a rose).....it is about a real flower rose which is left for quite a time in the hot springs and the result is amazing ...
