Best Wertern Hotel Eliska Karlovy Vary

... We arrived and the campsites we were looking for didn't seem to exist. We were lucky enough to follow some campsite signs that led us to one about 30 minutes out of the city and along the water. This campsite turned out to be a hunter’s lodge as well and much to our dismay we ate supper surrounded by animal heads and then walked back to our van only to notice a big dear hanging upside down with its guts dripping out. We have experienced Manitou and the Dead Sea, since we are here, we are going to Karlovy Vary to try out the waters. We have been looking online as to where we can float in the water, but there only seem to be spas who do all kinds of treatment, some with Dr.'s prescriptions. They also drink the water.

... 5.30am. Not having had much sleep on the 11 hour flight it was a bit of a struggle to function like a normal human! But Munich was fantastic, a great combination of old and modern...everyone gets around on their bikes around the city which is pretty cool. Jarrad has spent a fair bit of time in Munich so was great to be there with someone who knew all the places to go. Felt obliged to induldge as the locals do so we went to a great gourmet market and had beer ...

... then enjoyed a lunch of duck,dumplings and sweet and sour cabbage. I swear Greece and Czech Republic have the best food in the world. I am going to miss it. We will return tomorrow to Amsterdam to connect with our flight home. We are hoping to make the Anne Frank museum if the lines are not too long.

... where we marvelled at the gorgeous mouth-blown and hand made creations and finally realized the beauty and value of the glasses we had received from Mirek's parents. Despite the high cost, we treated ourselves to a set of glasses like the one's they had gotten us years before and will use and enjoy them even more now. Mirek's extremely generous and sweet Aunt, Uncle and cousin also bought us some so we are looking forward to drinking in style from now on ...

We spent a day walking through the town center the highlight of which is drinking from the 11 natural hot springs (each said to have it's own medicinal properties, but all of which taste gross just at different temperatures.). The center piece to the hot springs is the Hlavni Vridlo(main spring) which is more like a gyser that shoots some 9 meters into the air. K.V. also is the home of the spa wafer or Oplatky ...

So after spending a night in the city of Plzen, Karlovy Vary seems that much more glamorous. Here there is nothing but tourists, stores, spas and hotels, but in Plzen, I was the only tourist it seemed like. The hotel (if you can even call it that) was a room in some dorms. My suite mates were a couple old guys. I am really tired now from the walking I guess. I really like Karlovy Vary, everything that went wrong in Plzen is going right here. ... After remaining in the water the rose becomes hard and it looks as if it is made of iron.
And get one of those small pots they sell in the souvenir shops and try taste the water!
The pots are designed in such way that it is as if you drink out of a straw.
