... and all canoeing had been cancelled. We were not loving our adventures in Kentucky!  So, being troopers we signed up for the Cosair Distillery tour and tasting.  It was a small operation, but we really enjoyed the tour.  The tasting was a little stout for us, but we bought Chris their most popular gin.  We know that he will be a great taster.  The next day we headed to Churchill Downs.  It is an amazing place to ...

The aroma of thousands of barrels of Bourbon in various stages of aging is quite amazing. Then, the tasting, followed by the mandatory stop in the gift shop to purchase a bottle (and some Bourbon Balls). NIce day. Texas Roadhouse next door to hotel. All good.

... bloodline. It's a beautiful farm with pristine paddocks and stables. On the tour we got to pet Orb the 2013 Kentucky Derby winner and Front War, who now has a stud fee of 150k! We also toured Woodland Bourbon Distelleries. Fascinating history back to 1825 and through prohibition. Learned that Bourbon is a whiskey but distilled in new charred oak barrels for 6-10 years. Tasted some of the fine nectar! And bought a bottle of the double ...
