      ... that they were stopping northbound traffic at "Valley of Fire" off ramp and making them cross over the freeway and get right back on the southbound joining us already coming down from the flooded area.

      ... of an archeological dig, past doors where strange evils tried to burst through, under tunnels and over rackety 'rope' bridges. The scariest part of the ride was when we were roaring down a slope, and a huge boulder 3x the size of the jeep starting rolling from an overhead ramp.       ... We have a quick brekkie of cereal and walk over to Disneyland. It's only. 8.30 but the footpaths are already crowded.

      We meet Boogs, the kids and Uncle and Aunty at Sleeping Beauty castle and get to the first order of business - get me some ears. The kids happily come along to help me choose ultimately a pair of sparkly Minnie ears. The kids spot Pluto outside and Hinesh goes with them while I get the adults.

      ... way. We had reserved the world of colour dining package at wine country trattoria, which mean we chose a 3 course meal off a limited menu but got a ticket to world of colour. Our table was inside, which was good because it was already chilly. I had the filet mignon but the best part was the samplings of desserts.       ... California is beautiful and full of pretty awful drivers. We should be used to this coming from Tampa and southern Florida, but it was a bit of a shock after the long, empty drives of West Texas, New Mexico, and most of Arizona. As we write this, we are mentally preparing ourselves to bypass Los Angeles (as much as possible) and take the 101 up to the Bay Area. We'll see how we fare later in the afternoon.
