      Last Day

Had a relaxed start to the day and went for a drive south along the coast. It is another super day with few clouds and no pollution. A little chilly, but the clear skies would account for that. Had a look around Redondo Beach then drove over the Palos Verdes penninsula to see the sights. Got as far as Trump National Golf Course which proclaimed itself as the best golf course in California - sounds ...

It was huge. We toured around pretty much the entire ...

So we arrived in LA at 20:00 which is 7-hours behind the UK.
Entry in to the country was not the easiest - we were stopped at customs as we were "not on the manifest"... This was quite scary, we were asked if we had criminal records, or had ever been arrested, 2nd proof of ID, our boarding passes again and pretty much interrogated! Turns out Air New Zealand told America that we had not boarded the plane ...

Corey's point of view (January 1,2014) Saying goodbye to family was tough. Hugging everyone and knowing you wouldn't be seeing these people for 8 months brought tears to our eyes. It will be strange not having the comfort of visiting family w/e desired. Leaving for this long period of time is like going to school for the first time; excitement and nervousness are the two main ingredients being stirred in the pot. Not knowing what exactly we are doing a week from now ...
