Quiet this morning and I was up with the sun as my pancake mattress was a little uncomfortable. After a final walk around Key West to some of the famous tourist spots - Hemingway's house, end of Hwy A1A, and a picture at the Southern Most point in the continental US (just 90 miles to Cuba), we hit the road north. The history of the fort, the role it played in US history going back to the civil war, and the shear size and unbelievable construction of this building out in the middle of the ocean, made the visit very memorable. Yesterday started out badly for me. While doing tear down my chair wheel caught the hose and ripped it and the hookup from the trailer - again! Then, to add insult to injury, my chair got caught in the mud - again! Nita had to haul the handy dandy mats over to get it out.
