There are "rails to trails" walking areas, a very nice municipal swimming pool, several historic exhibits and very nice green lawns. Last night was a good stay. Carol O., we really enjoyed visiting the town that you spent a lot of time in while growing up in this area.

Today we headed north to Wichita, KS. In contrast to the park in Thackerville, OK, the one in Wichita was pretty new. Lots of concrete, not much in the way of trees. It sorta felt like we were camping on an airport runway. Good laundry, showers, and restrooms. (Hey, those things are important!)

On our drive to Springfield, MO we found the land to have very rolling hills and we saw Amish tooling along in their horse drawn buggies...and one intrepid farmer who also looked to be Amish driving a John Deere! As we rode along, we had one of those long talks ...
Good ride into Wichita today. Hammered out the 90 miles with my buddies roof and Brently. We stayed in the Wichita State University dorms. I got to experience my first Chick Fill A today. Have to say I approve. For our dinner we were feed by a local group that participates in iCan Bike. This is a program where an engineer created bikes where the back tire is inerchangable with rollers and over the course of five days kids with disabilities can progress to riding normal bikes. ...
