Leaving the slum, then to Caspar (camping)

I've never been so happy to leave a hotel. This place was a DUMP.

We stopped by Point Reyes national park for some (more) good views, but mostly just enjoyed the scenery along route 1.

The dogs are doing well, as is the camper. We're happy Caspar is getting the help he needs, but sad to see him go.

We found a neat campsite with a beautiful ocean view (Caspar beach rv park), and settled for the night. Campfire w/ BBQ and beer. Life is good.

... we would make it to the most famous one. So we went to the first one! After that, we picked up Route 1 through some of the curviest road this side of the coal fields. If ya got kids, it's carsick city for sure. Then all of a sudden, you pop out of the forest and there is the ocean.

We follow the shore to where we are staying tonight, Fort Bragg, California. It's a fishing/semi tourist town. We're staying in a cheap hotel ...

... world: "Try, but you will never silence us all!" Kate did it with her music; some do it with a democratic vote; one festival fella here did it by setting up an elaborate stand that stamped bank notes with red ink: Not To Be Used For Bribing Politicians.

All were united by Kate's songs for one fine splinter of time, all those who long for a better world sang in harmony. The message was clear. When the world seems to be falling apart, never forget that under ...

... we saw the Pacific Ocean!! We walked the historic downtown area and had lunch in a historic cafe. We had heard that they had a unique beach that had a large amount of Sea Glass { small pieces of glass bottles that have been polished by the sand and washed ashore} We collected a handful and watched the waves break on the rocks. What a great day!

... Bragg using the wifi at McDonalds. The road to get here was quite windy and up and down hills. Nick was glad not to be doing it in the coach. He may have permanent "white knuckles" from some of the drives he has done along the way. The drive was 30 miles but took about an hour to drive it.

Tomorrow we are off to Novato just North of San Rafael where I will visit with my cousin Betsy and her family.
