... a Critter Classroom, Mountain Kings, Garden of Lights) with rock climbing walls, swing bridges, lots of limestone walkways, tunnels and several arch bridges. The workmanship / hand labor required to create this place was phenomenal – no machines could traverse this 80acre area. It also features ancient rock formations, deep/narrow crevices (one is called Fat Mans Squeeze), balancing rocks ...

A tent with 4 walls (aka a wooden cabin - yay)

... You can eat and sleep on board. Whilst heading to the Choo Choo we saw a local brew pub so we stopped by and had a local brew and pizza for lunch. It had great atmosphere and was orginally an old warehouse that had been redesigned. It made us a little homesick but last night we stopped by a World Foods Maket that we happened to see as we drove by and they had Mint Slice biscuits, Tim Tams, Crunchies and Turkish Delight. All of which we now ...

Chattanooga, the Hub.

We have arrived in Chattanooga and found ourselves a bargain basement priced little wooden cabin to keep us out of the rain and in the warmth, yay! This is just a short entry. This week we will be staying here in Chattanooga checking out the surrounds and making a few day trips to neighbouring states.

We will keep you updated. Lots of Love, the warm, Bek and Jesse Train

Visiting the Battlefield - Chickamauga NP

... I did see that they had a 1903 Springfield. I’ll have to remember to tell Shaun.

We decide it is a good time to hit the auto tour before the bus load of children head there. We head out and follow the battle. I like trying to guess which monuments are for which state. Each state provided the monuments for their units. Most of the really big ones are for confederate states. There is a HUGE Georgia spiral we see ...

... onto another gravel road to a waterfall. We parked the bikes and hiked 1.8 miles to the waterfall. Again, spectacular views. Uphill hiking in and we encountered a few downed trees. Easy coming out.

The hike took some time so when we got back on 136 North and headed on to Chickamauga we didn't stay too long. We will definitely will go back.

Jamie, Zach, and I can now say that we have done what all the barns and bird houses across the southeast has been requesting people to do: See Rock City. Rock City is a Labrinth of rock formations on the highest peak in Tennessee. From one spot we could Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Zach enjoyed looking at the rocks that loomed overhead and the massive waterfall.

Cruisin' Down the River

... with a deluxe continental breakfast cruise; 10 am sharp, Saturdays and Sundays. Take your binoculars and scoot up to the top deck later to watch for herons and listen as the narrator boasts of Chattanooga's charms. The cruises curve around Moccasin Bend and drift past the city skyline. No better place in the world to enjoy both our water and our mountains. And no day can possibly go wrong once you've been piped to shore by the joyous circus ...

... and playground, but its lovliest feature is a lily-padded duckpond complete with spraying fountains. Along the paved walking path that circles the pond, stone benches and stone overlooks let you choose your view. Fishing is allowed, but all adults must be accompanied by a kid! Riverview Park nestles into that quiet corner just below the Barton Avenue curve into Hixson Pike. It was built in 1939 and has been renovated in recent times ...

... Raiders during the Great Locomotive Chase in 1862. Battle reenactments are held each year on the dates of the events; the Battles of Resaca, Kennesaw Mountain, and Chickamauga are replayed in full costume with authentic weaponry. Confederate cemeteries are scattered through the area; Cassville Cemetery near Cartersville has over 300 graves. This is an area of small-town charm too. Cave Spring bills itself as the "small town of ...
