... the Wildlife Trail in Custer State Park again as we left the area this morning. Our hopes were that we would see more buffalo than the lonely only we saw yesterday! Before going into the park, we stopped for fuel for which we paid $3.69/gal. Shortly after going into the park, we did indeed see some wildlife...a small herd of prong horn antelopes were munching their breakfast in a meadow along the road. Since breakfast sounded like a good idea by this time, ...

    Day 5

We woke up again really early (like 5:30)… well, more like 2 of us woke up and made the other 2 people get up. The redneck family of like, 20 people in the one cabin across from us, were outside cooking bacon on the front porch this morning. We didn't have anything like that so we went to the lodge by our campground and got breakfast. It took forever, but it was good and each plate was enough for 2 or 3 ...

... headed south and came upon Pactola Reservoir. Pactola, I remember from years ago, when after work with the South Dakota Army National Guard's 129th Public Affairs Detachment in Rapid City, one summer (probably 1978) a few of us went fishing at Pactola. That was an interesting fishing trip in that it was at night, and we hung a lantern over the side of the boat and used sweet corn as bait and caught a very nice group of trout. That was a first for ...
