    ... into the sides of them. Palos Verdes is a very upscale community with large, almost massive, size homes. Saw a couple of horse farms too! The community appears to be small, which is a first for us in the Los Angeles area. Most communities have been an extension of LA itself, but not Palos Verdes.     ... the first half uphill at, at times, quite steep. There were a couple of routes to the museum and we inadvertently chose the one "less travelled" which involved a narrow track and climbing over fallen trees that blocked the path.     We hopped on a bus tour today to see the sights of LA. We got picked up two streets from our hotel at 9.10am and immediately met up with a young couple from Hawthorn. It was nice to hear some Aussie accents. It was interesting though to find out that people on tours don't really want to talk to each other - unlike in the movies. Our tour guide was called BJ and he was very knowledgeable. The bus was called a Rasta bus and had a very definite Rastafarian ...
