    Venice Beach!

    ... a great time. We had a few beers and food at the Venice Beach Ale House, then took a long walk up and down the boardwalk. We talked about old times, our families, etc. It was interesting to catch up with a friend from the old neighborhood just as I'm about to embark on a return trip there after 20 something years here in California. It reminded me why I was going home. There are some things that just last. No matter how many years go by, some things don't fade away.

    ... Mac and Josie created a raft. We played a few rounds of pool baseball. We had the pool all to ourselves and had a great time.

    ... one was actually swim able. It had a deep end, (only 6 and a half feet but better than the last few that barely broke 4). I spent a good hour enjoying it than came back to my room to attempt to be a barber. Not to worry, I had been a barber plenty of times when still in the Army, so this was nothing to go back to the high and tight. I actually felt human again.
