We managed to take off on our 2014 Winter trip on Friday. We spent the night in West Virginia and luckily picked a place to stay south of a region affected by a chemical spill. We made it to Myrtle Beach last night. Went to church and Costco, then spent the afternoon walking the beach and enjoying the sun and warmth.

... shortage of Velveeta cheese! It has to be a mistake I thought. This shortage of that wonderful creamy cheese like product is front page National news? I ventured further into the Internet and yes, this was a national headline!
Reading the articles made me both laugh and then border line mad. I realize that College Bowl games are on, the NFL playoffs and then the Super Bowl but really, a national issue over Velveeta? Can we as Americans not find better, more ...

We had a great time at Sue and Helen's. We were able to spend some time with some of Helen's family, Janet, Willem, Catherine, Kace, Rowan and Georgia. As usual it was party central and lots of fun. We decided to head east to water and landed in Surfside SC in time for a long beach walk before ...

Well, some parks don't have septic or sewerage outlets on their sites, so if you stay for a prolonged period you will need the 'Hunny Wagon' to come and empty your poo tank. Hmm, 'hunny' is just not a suitable word I don't think, because it sure doesn't smell the slightest bit like honey when it is pumping out!! Phew!!

... the names and the ambiance was always interesting. Our last night we ate at Bovines, was seated next to the wood burning fireplace, enjoyed the heat, the smell and the crackle of the fire and thought of Idaho. All in all, we liked Myrtle Beach and wouldn't mind going back in season...for maybe 2 days... that would probably be all these old ***** could handle!!

Heading South tomorrow (a whole 2 hours) to Charleston SC.
