It's Almost All Down Hill From Here...Said Vicki!
Our plan today - ride down hill to Cumberland, ride the train up the hill to Frostburg, pick up our panniers and hit the trail to Meyersdale! It was fun riding 16 miles and hardly ever peddling! The grade was just enough so you never had to brake, but every so often only had to peddle a little bit! We agreed it was the way to start the day's ride!
Back in Frostburg we loaded our bikes for the ride ...
On the Beach
... note: Texans like to show tribute to individuals and groups who have earned their respect and appreciation. There are many memorials and dedications along the highways and byways. There is a strong sense of pride in being a Texan and being an American that shines strongly here.
PS: The restrooms/showers at this park were ghastly. The city needs to step up and totally remodel them. John braved the shower, but I stayed in our little RV.

To Hell and Back Again
The day started off hectic as hell. Up at 6am and off to catch the shuttle at the Holiday Inn Express. Got there 5 minutes before the time they told me to arrive, and the shuttle pulled up just as I was unloading. The driver said I was lucky he saw me because they failed to put me on the registration list. So far I've yet to make it onto one of those lists, I wonder if I'm doing something wrong? Just Breezed into Town
... miles further north to Bay City. Thanks to Lynnie's map reading skills we turned around in time to save us sixty or so miles of so-called "turnaround time".
This park is directly on Lavaca Bay. Shorty's front end looks out over it. We haven't explored yet, but there's a half-mile long walkway over the marsh that abuts the bay. Photos should clear that up. Great WiFi here too... ...
NO ROOM AT THE INN
It rained all night last night, and all day today. It is still raining as I write this.
We altered our plans of going west to Padre Island on the Gulf of Mexico because the rain is from Tropical Storm Carl and Igor is coming. It rained so ******* our drive today, that Frank could hardly see in front of us. We stopped for gas in a downpour and I thought we'd have trouble getting out of the service station because the intersection was flooded and getting more so. But, ...
