OMG..yesterday Cid and I drove 785 miles. That was ridiculous but we are alive and well. Today, though we stopped to play at our first scenic place which was the Sleeping Bear National Park and boy was it worth it. Wish we could stay and play longer but I have a feeling I will be back to this area( and Mackinac Island) again some summer and stay …

... surprise. The second surprise was that the pasties are not crimped but folded! Definitely not a Cornish pasty - the whole point is that you could hold the crust in your hand when in the mine. I ended-up wearing my pasty on my jumper as all the juices ran out (normally they collect at the bottom of the pasty - the best bit!). Left around ten am after breakfast. No one in breakfast room. Until another couple came in were in our own. Drove over to Travers City as recommended by Andrew. Had a couple of hours there. It is by the lake and beautiful. Just had a coffee there still full from breakfast. Had a walk over the road and down by the lake took some photos. Then we headed out of Travers City. We had over one Hundred miles to do to St Ignace where we are ...

... at nchor and 20 at marinas. We burned a little over 200 gallons of diesel fuel giving us a mileage of just over 3 miles per gallon. We ate most of the food we brought with us but also sampled many local restaurants. And most importantly, after 34 days on a small boat all aboard still love each other.

Stay tuned for next year. Thanks for following.
