We stayed overnight in a nice city-owned campground outside of Litchfield...the manager of the campground has only been working there for a couple of months but has big plans for renovating it. He wanted to hear our story about working for a circus and living on the road. Since it's pretty done with camping season at this point, we were the only ones in the entire campground (though many RVs were there for winter storage already and weekenders). We were right ...
... found the library and stopped in...the librarian behind the desk was happy to take some flyers, but without any patrons, there wasn't much else we could do.
I drove the RV around a bit, trying to find anything a) open and b) populated, but to no avail. Maybe we should have stopped and chatted with the sports bar patrons, but we figured it wouldn't be the best photo op to have a clown in a bar. ;)
... The whole process was inefficient and annoying. Of course, it was a Saturday. If we were to do it again, it would have to be a weekday.
Getting out of St. Louis was a real pain as well. A professional soccer game had just ended and the Chicago cubs were in town to play the cardinals. The rv made it that much more difficult, but we did it!!! On our way to Indianapolis ...
