... br> Lunch: Goode’s Barbecue for Texas style barbecue (brisket). Yum-yum! Brisket, cole slaw, Texas toast with jalapeņos, and beans. Jim had pinto beans with jalapeņos while Barbara had Austin style baked beans (beans, pork belly, pieces of brisket, red bell peppers, onions and apples-what a surprise). Both were delicious.

Next we thought we’d shop at the Galleria Mall. Big mistake! ...

... Control was rained out so we missed it.

We saw moon rocks, pictures of all the astronaut teams, space suits, rocket engines, etc. We watched 2 really good films. The first was about the history of the space program with lots of good film clips. The second was a new film about the future of space exploration. It was on the largest giant screen in Texas and was an excellent film about the future ...

... each one being about 1.5 miles long. We started with the right hand side trail then went on the middle trail. We stopped by and saw a couple of bison (fenced in) a a couple hawks (also caged). Today at one point as we were crossing on a boardwalk when I actually saw a snake right beside Karen. I said "SNAKE!" and Karen said "WHERE?" but it sounded more like "WAH-HARE?" as she was high-stepping around in a circle. It was quite funny. ...

Our time there started with a tram tour to the old mission control room used for all but the shuttles. Standing there was like being in the movie set of Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks, NASA has protected the room as a national historic site.
