Not much to write about...
My only reason to come to Houston was to visit the NASA space center. Frankly, it was unimpressive at best.
Houston downtown looked very busy, huge and un-inviting and I felt very tired at the same time. So I decided not to do anything else in Houston. I checked into a motel close to NASA and crashed.

... hier am Airport George Bush (allein der Name sagt alles!) haben wir dann lieber nicht erwähnt, dass wir gar nicht verheiratet sind – sonst hätten wir am Ende noch zwei Einzelzimmer bekommen.

Cancelled flight and problem solving
The trip did not begin well. We were still driving along Mt. Diablo Blvd. towards the freeway when we received a call from United. Our 6:30pm departure was delayed until 10:45pm. We were scheduled to arrive Austin after 3am. Yoiks. We decided to continue on to the airport before, of course, sometimes they can find a new plane and leave earlier than planned. Despite the pouring rain, the delay was due to aircraft maintenance.

NASA Space Center
... um 10 Uhr am Center angekommen.
Wir haben zuerst das Museum und einen Film über alle Raumfahrtmissionen der NASA angeschaut. Dort hatte man auch die Möglichkeit einen echten Mondstein zu berühren. Außerdem waren viele Utensilien der Missionen, wie: Anzüge, Helme, Raumschiffe,… zu betrachten. Dann haben wir uns auf einen Stuhl gesetzt, der die Schwerelosigkeit imitiert und mussten dann versuchen verschiedene Knöpfe an einer Konsole zu bedienen.
