We left Arata early due to warnings about construction delays on route 299. We had to be in Chico before 4 for the brewery tour at Sierra Nevada.
The route we took (299) was a great road for the bike, but the construction delays were a bit of a downer. I liked several of the small towns we rode through, especially Weaverville.

I hope this cooler weather ...

I never actually saw whatever creature was around, but I was ...
... actually seen this song bird, but I hear it always. I have also heard this bird in the mountains around my dad's home town in Autlán, Jalisco, México, particularly in La Sierra de San Juan Cacoma. I am assuming it migrates because when I heard it in México, it was October. The song of this bird is somewhat melancholic, yet it is soothing and tranquil. I definitely look forward to this song each day, along with the song of the Mountain ...
