    We awoke t be in Avignon and low and behold once again we had a vessel attach to outside our window. River cruising has become so popular that mown the river boats have to moor to each other at times and then the guests walk through the vessel closest to the dock to get to land, the first time this happened it was ,a bit off putting but we have adjusted to it.     ... for us, this was lovely to watch. This town is known for hiding the Jews and Pierre's mother hid a doctor in the ceiling of her kitchen for 2 years and he was never found by the Germans,afterwards he became the family Doctor. Interestingly this town of 4000 people has several doctors 4 of which are physiatrists .     ... like so many cities this is how they were protected. Both these towns are renowned for their worlds famous wines. The entire area is fortunate in having almost ideal conditions for sunshine and rainfall needed to produce such excellent, well-known vintages .     ... daffodils, Apple blossoms, poppies of all colours, jonquils, azaleas, columbines of all colours and many more, some of which I can't name, all floating on a haze of deep blue forget me nots and every shade of pansies.
