      ... the evening, he made a cheese fondue, another local speciality, and we all enjoyed catching up on twenty odd years of news. It was really remarkable - almost as though we had only parted a few days ago, instead of almost 25 years. Shows the strength of good friends!

      So what did we do today? We went to three different countries, yes just TODAY! :) Sarah and Martin took us on a three country tour of Germany, France, and Switzerland. We started in Switzerland of course, then went to Germany and had a great lunch at a cute little restaurant. We tried both French and German Cuisine, then had Gelato of course!

      We left dark and early on a water taxi for the train station. It was 2 and a half hours to Milan and I slept half the way there. Milan to Basel was 4 hours and a beautiful ride. We rode past lake Como and planned the area as a stop for our next European vacation. It was gorgeous. We also rode passed the snow capped peaks of the Swiss Alps.       We arrived in Colmar and the apartment is fine.
      The buildings around this place look so nice and they don't look like they are real.
      They are all different colours and they have just put wood in it.

      After we got ourselves ready with the apartment we walked around going through the markets to see if we could find an ice skating rink.

      We decided to make full use of our semester ticket which gives us free transport around the region and thus ended up at Breisach one weekend.

      The weather was really gloomy, making the whole trip quite worthless. The view of the rhine river was nothing spectacular.

      I guess the only time we'd be back to this place is to take a bus to Colmar.
