... water to another town / village, La Cluse on the opposite side. The water is very clean and clear. A speedboat with water-skier in tow travelled up and down,.. and two old codgers sat quietly with fishing lines in the water,.. just to complete the picture. Cocktail hour happened in front of the van,.. looking out on to the lake. Friday was our 'domestics' day. Washing and cleaning kept us busy till noon. ... go, we chose to take a leisurely sache back toward the hauptbahnhof, stopped in the park to relax a bit then check out the Coop for food on our journey back to Speyer. We got another Brezelkönig and waited for the train.

We departed at 6:05 and headed to Mannheim to make our connection to Speyer. Despite the train drivers attempts to break the land speed record, or so it felt, we charged off the train in Mannheim and bolted ...

... us to a trip on a ferry across the lake, which was a nice surprise! France is always good, feels close to home and we've missed their baking. We're at a small site run by 'Stan' just south of Nancy. It's all NL here (we have to call the that now as Gen only refers to people by the letters on their car) only one or two D's and no GB's (that's what Gen seeks out!) We've had the odd letter that we have to look up - there is S, DK, B, BL, ...

Today we left Eguisheim after a night of rain. So far it seems to rain at night and be sunny in the day. Everything is really green and fresh. Drove through the Vosges Mountains today, up some of the roads the Tour de France travelled a couple of weeks ago. You can see why they take drugs...... Actually, we had the French president here today, with the German equivalent, to commemorate 100 yrs to the day since Germany declared war on France.
