It took 2 hours to travel to Reims and we went first to Mumm Champagne which is located in the city. Mumm is pronounced moomm not mum. The family Mumm came from Germany and founded the company in 1827. A guide from the company took us on a tour of the cellars and told us how champagne is made.

... ordered something that appeared to be a local delicacy (in Belgium it was eel!). His entrée seemed OK, French Onion soup but the main was a dish called Tartare with frittes. Well we knew that frittes were chips so we thought perhaps fish and chips.
