... is fab and air conditioned. Chilled for a bit then all showered then found a basic but great tapas bar - friendly service and fab food and cheap to boot. Finished with a wander up la rambla and into the barri gotic. Lovely evening. Kids managed to persuade us to play a few games of cards so not a very early ...

This morning we went for an early morning ride in the dark. We left at 5am and got back around 6.30am.

As the guy turns his bunk upside down (looking for ear plugs or toothpaste or who knows what) his beam flashes away in the gloom, subjecting the rest of us to indiscriminate helicopter searchlight scrutiny. I should be angry at him, but actually I am drowsily admonishing myself for not bringing a headtorch. How ...

... has a distinct Spanish look (we are only 50km from the Spanish border), and the food and culture are also not noticeably French. Croissants for breakfast and Catalonian sausage for lunch. I understand this region has passed from French to Spanish to French again and Spanish again occupation for over 1000 years. Sensibly the locals have given up figuring out which nation they belong to and just ...
