... on because we are not at work, it is not snow, and we are in an exotic and stunning city. The tour manager treated us to cabbage pie and champagne ( I know a strange combination) for dinner then off to the folklore show. This was not the corny audience participation type of show but an incredibly professional and entertaining spectacle. The athleticism of the dancers and the sumptuous costumes made for a great night. All in all it was a fun weekend excursion. I think everyone enjoyed getting out of the city and being able to spend time outside. The weather was lovely – spring is finally here – and so it was a very enjoyable time.

At home, I had just started eating oatmeal for breakfast, and before that, I had quite happily lived with no breakfasts for a number of years, despite the best efforts of my parents. Russia turned all that on its head. Yogurt, bread, cheese, kasha, blinchiki, draniki...the list goes on.
