Good evening from Uglich!! Today around noon we arrived in Uglich, one of Russia's Golden Ring cities. As I mentioned yesterday, we are not able to sail to Yaroslavl so the cruise company arranged for us to be bussed there today. We boarded the busses around 2:00 for the 1-1/2 hour bus ride to the city of Yaroslavl. Yaroslavl is a city of about 600,000 people on the Volga River. As a couple of them grew up in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine on the border with Crimea it was a wonderful chance ...

We awoke this morning to our last day on the Golden Ring with a visit to the local Kremlin. It's fairly small, but quite beautiful as our driver recommended. You could probably visit it all in about an hour, but one of the things we enjoyed about this Kremlin was that you could walk around the walls, giving you a higher view of the layout of the grounds. After a brief stop at the local partially open souvenir market (no ...
