    ... and we eventually decided to make a run for another town a little off the beaten track but about 85km away. The town is called Haapsula and turned out to be a far more traditional (better) option to commercial Parnu anyway. So we squeezed into their small camp-site just after 7:40pm set up camp and took off into town for a feed and an evening walk along the seafront promenade.

    A good day but a lot of travelling but now we are within easy reach ...

    ... was well stocked too!

    Back to the boat, lunch and then camera at the ready, we were off again on our little bikes to do the sightseeing bit, which principally meant the Haapsalu loss or Episcopal Castle, dating from the thirteenth century (see photo). Apart from being an impressive construction with its integral church, the castle also boasts a ghost, called the 'White Lady in the Wall'. I have copied the Haapsalu web site verbatim below :-

    Getting on with the rest of the day consisted of initially doing the laundry. The washing machine had broken down here so we had no choice other than, peasant style, do the washing in the showers, pummelling the sheets and sundry items of clothing against the shower tiles (very clean of course and of course, initially checked for same) whilst getting an additional shower ourselves. Still, it worked and CW was soon the talk of the harbour, ...

    ... pay as all was included, albeit it was a longish walk to the showers (toilets were nearer, in the ferry terminal) but in Virtsu, in addition to their 20 euros, they wanted to charge €2 each for the showers – so of course we washed on the boat.
