    ... lunches aren’t typically Estonian so I think the waitress thought I was a bit odd. After lunch I went for a walk around the town. I made my way down to the promenade along the sea shore. Being the weekend, lots of people were down there. Well, as many as a town of 12,000 people can muster. There are huge expanses of reedbeds by the water and the area is known for its bird watching.     ... and we eventually decided to make a run for another town a little off the beaten track but about 85km away. The town is called Haapsula and turned out to be a far more traditional (better) option to commercial Parnu anyway. So we squeezed into their small camp-site just after 7:40pm set up camp and took off into town for a feed and an evening walk along the seafront promenade.

    Getting on with the rest of the day consisted of initially doing the laundry. The washing machine had broken down here so we had no choice other than, peasant style, do the washing in the showers, pummelling the sheets and sundry items of clothing against the shower tiles (very clean of course and of course, initially checked for same) whilst getting an additional shower ourselves.     Today we were going northwards, to the island of Hiiumaa and the new yacht facility in the ferry port of Heltermaa. Unlike the past few days, we had some cloud around and absolutely no wind. The total distance we were to cover was only 25 miles so an early start was not required, consequently it was 09:00 when we fired up old faithful and set off.
