I say I walked around NN, but it was mainly counting bridal parties who were doing photoshoots down by the Volga or on a green patch on a hill overlooking the city.

In the evening, I asked the hostel owner (I assume he was the owner as he just sat around watching the tv and ordering other people to do stuff all day) if he fancied watching a film. ...

... Vov Gory I continued till nearly out of park, then turned into the park (yes, I am now a tree with herbaceous border) and up the hill. This, then, was sparrow hill, at the top of which we had stood and surveyed the view he previous day and part of Gorky park. The park is long but not deep, and the hill goes up rapidly, but it's a short sharp sort of a thing rather than a long grind. ... and it took us almost as long to brave the stop and go traffic back from the airport. A 2 lane highway at times included the ditch and everywhere, up to 5 lanes! everyone looking for a small break to get ahead. As always, we left our passports at the front desk to be processed.
Said good buy to Joe last night. He is so sharp, resourceful and energetic. Reminded me of Uncle Ed.I will sure miss him.

... an underpass to get to the other side. The underpass turned out to be like a mini gallery of paintings. Many artists were there peddling their works and some were very good, it would have been a bit of a pain to try and get one home though.

Gorky Park seemed very much the destination for Muscovites to come and unwind. There were people roller blading, dancing and even playing ping pong. For an out of town tourist though it was just a relaxing place to go for ...
