6304 km to Ulaan Baatar... 1436 km done....

The train arrived in Perm around 1950 the day after leaving and we had already gone through two time zones and covered 1436 km. I had my 2-berth cabin all to myself and praised myself lavishly for making the right decision to go first class. I had space to store my luggage and have my kit how I wanted it. The toilet is ok. Not flash. The men seem to have a problem aiming, no toilet paper is provided and it empties straight on to the track. Basic, but I'm lucky I can attend to anything else in the privacy of my cabin.
