... rousing game of UNO allowed a few team members to meet another patron, while the more introverted took a quieter break. Later this afternoon we'll be going to look at the concert venues.
We continue to covet your prayers, especially as we finalize our schedule, prepare for the concerts and adjust to our jet lag. But we've already seen God working and we can't wait to see what else he will do!
Hard work getting up today, partly because I lost two hours yesterday traveling through two time zones and second because it just seemed a bit ground hog day. The hills have disappeared replaced with soft rolling climbs over plains. The road are quick B type roads but very bumpy and didn't do my knees any favours. It was also a day of firsts. BAD. 1 First time I forget ...
... So after only 1 night we decided to move on towards Kulunda, the Russian side of the Russian to Kazakh border. We arrived at around 4.30 and thought we drive to the border to see what time they opened the next day. Once there we greeted with open arms and much to our surprise after only 30 minutes we were in Kazakhstan!!

... no hawkers in sight. Luckily we managed to find one stop on each of the remaining 2 days to buy noodles and once even a little pastry thing that managed to keep us going until arrival in Astana. Even then, we were forced to ration our last slice of bread between us for breakfast on the final day! But we had finally made it into Kazakhstan and were stoked to hop off the train, smelly and starving, in Astana. We were fortunate enough to have someone to ...
... in my room after the tour, and prepare for a 1:30am departure to the airport. There are five of us flying Lufthansa to Frankfurt, and I have a quick connection to my Chicago-bound flight.
Creating the tour evaluation form gave me a chance to review everything we have done in the past three weeks, and I have to say it is amazing. I hope the group members agree, and I look forward to returning to these parts in the future. Thanks for traveling along with ...
