... clueless on where to go. I must've looked clueless as well, as this guy came up to me and said: "let me see your ticket". So I showed him my ticket and I was thinking in the back of my mind: what's this guy gonna do, try to rob me?

He said: I'll show you to your train for 20 grivna. This is only about $2.50 so I said sure. I went to get change to get the 20 grivna, and he said: "Oh and buy ...
Odessa, Odessa Oblast, Ukraine loveukrainians... a little surprised that I could do it. Dec, 8. Danette and I spent the day getting out ornaments and decorating her tree. I also rested. Sam--We seem to have quit the traveling for now. I am sure glad! I have been exploring the yard here. This place has the fattest squirrels I have ever seen. I think I am going to enjoy it here. Dec. 9 Dan had his arthroscopic knee surgery today and did well. Danette and I went to see him and Joyce while he was in recovery, and then moved into ...
Odessa TX, United States susieq223... adjusting to become more GREEN. I wanted to feel good about traveling. So I came across RezHub.com and while I was out traveling, taking care of personal issues and having fun I knew my money was donated to a Green Organization. There is a brand new travel website that I found called RezHub.com. What I like about RezHub.com is when you book through them you ...
Odessa, Texas, United States kimbereleyI don't remember much about this trip other than what I already wrote in the description. It was hot. I got sunburned. There were dogs. There was a kayak team. We took a train and traveled in a sleeper car. But it was a good old soviet sleeper car that had no private compartments, but about twenty bunks (or so) in ...
Odessa, Ukraine beatab... me two hours to get one ride which was only like 10km and since I was on a time budget I decided to bus it through Serbia. Well I took a bus to the capital (Belgrade) which put me there at 5am where i then took a bus out of town to try hitch hiking again. Well it didn't exactly work too well and so i just took another bus to the border, changed buses again and headed towards Romania. This is the bus trip that would prove to be an interesting adventure however ...
Odessa, Ukraine dylanboyleThis morning, we started out at the Las Cruces Veterans Memorial Park for a Wreath Laying. This is a beautiful park. My cousin, Russell Platt's name is on the wall - he was killed in Vietnam, and was living in Las Cruces when he was deployed. During the ceremonies, the weather turned ugly again - looks like another rainy day. It rained off and on, but not too hard. During the day, 'New York' told me that my tail light was out - I had ...
Odessa, Texas, United States helenskibWe awoke to a flat rear tire, we slowly drove to Carlsbad to get it fixed. It turned out to be a cracked valve stem only $10 to fix. Midland, Texas, United States cainrvtrip... and they say, exterior , too, because they take the tables out into the garden for summer). People at "kompot" can explain you how to get there. I also smoked nargille here, it already twice more expensive than in "Afina". Theaters are worth going in Odessa, if you happen not to like the sea. Odessa opera and ballet theater is one of the greatest in Ukraine. Asa we were visiting in winter, we went there and saw a beautiful ballet. I made lots of pictures, I'll upload them later.
Odessa, Ukraine zhenia... to deal with sice the start of our travels (yes, worse than the Greeks), it's as though she'd never met anyone with an accent before. But we do indeed make it to Kiev without chunder or without strangling the hostess. We arrive to Kiev. I try to ring Alex (my cousin). For some reason the number didn't work. After trying about 20 different variations we finally hear the voice of Svetlana on the other end. She's coming to pick us up. YAY!
Odessa, Ukraine laurantimWe took it easy today and caught our breath around the pool. Tonight we went to a Baseball game (the Midland Rockhounds - assisted by Rocky their mascot - beat the Wichita Wranglers) - it was great to see a game live and to soak up the atmosphere. We followed up this with a trip (in Jane's convertible) to a drive in movie where we saw Underdog. great movie - pity about the mosquitos !!!
