On the way up, we had more than one moment where we wondered why we are doing that... but the challenge as well as the wonderful views helped us to forget the "pain". And being on top was a great feeling at the end.... After another night, we had another long hiking day before coming back to Almaty. It was time for the night life again...

Sonntag ging es dann um 6 Uhr aus dem Schlafsack, weiter vorbei an Gletschern und vergletscherten Bergen über einen Pass auf 4.000 Metern Höhe. Als ich auf den Pass zugestiegen bin, schon entnervt und entkräftet davon ewig knie- bis hüfttief im Schnee einzusacken, habe ich gedacht wir werden wieder umdrehen müssen, so scheinbar unüberwindlich lag die Bergfront mit dem vereisten Pass vor uns. ... was good enough and I offered to pay him for his services. He would not take any money or alcohol as he was just happy to help. We shook hands and I was just so grateful. The following day I saw him again and thanked him again for his welding and he basically blessed me and the bike which I found very touching. It is moments like this that restore your faith in human kindness.

I was a happy bunny back on two wheels ready for the riding to come.
